My Mouth is A Volcano by Julia Cook
Rationale: This book is realistic in nature because I feel that every student has felt the outburst and need to share something despite the fact someone else was speaking. I feel like students will be able to relate to the struggle of the story's protagonist and also be able to laugh along the way. It is definitely a fun way to discuss interruptions in social settings and how it makes people that are being interrupted feel. For Ages 4 - 7 years old.

Ramona Quimby, Age 8 by Beverly Cleary
Rationale: A childhood favorite for myself, Ramona Quimby is a relatable story of a girl and her feelings and interactions with her school friends and family members at home. Ramon is funny, honest and vulnerable ---- something I think children will be able to relate to. Ramona is just a young girl navigating through childhood and sometimes stories of that nature are the best of all. For Ages 8 through 12 years old.

No, David! by David Shannon
Rationale: The narration and illustrations are both very unique and nature which is why I think will be a great book to have in any classroom library. This story does not need a lot of words in order to be captivating. Instead, it takes the reader on a journey where it so accurately depicts the spirit of the child. Children will be children is the moral of the end, and what to them is great fun, to an adult can be a decision that isn't so wise. For Ages 4 - 8 years old.

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
Rationale: I chose this book because the love and devotion that the tree has for the boy in the story is heart warming and inspiring. It will definitely get my students to think about who and what in their lives they are loving and devoting to in the way the Tree was for the boy. The illustrations are minimal but, still something I think my students will enjoy as a result of the captivating story. The captivating story definitely compliments the minimal drawings. Age Group: 4-8 years old.
